Groep achter Bamboo Basics behaalt B Corp-certificering voor verantwoord ondernemen

Bamboo Basics Group achieves B Corp certification for responsible business

Soft bamboo underwear has been at the heart of Bamboo Basics for years. More and more consumers want to know where their clothes come from and under what conditions they are made. That is why we make choices that go beyond just materials. How things are produced and how we work together also plays a role. By achieving the B Corp certification, HVEG Brands Group, of which Bamboo Basics is part, demonstrates its commitment not only to product quality but also to transparency, fair working conditions and responsible business practices.

“This process confirms that we meet high, independent standards in sustainability, transparency and social impact. We want to show that as a company we want to keep doing things better step by step and also want to deliver on that promise. Together we can make a difference. We are extremely proud of that,” says Mike van Snek, CEO of HVEG Brands Group, part of HVEG Group.

    Bamboo as a starting point

What starts for customers with soft and comfortable underwear is always linked to how it is made at Bamboo Basics. Bamboo has played a central role for years and is known for its breathable and moisture-regulating properties. The brand develops underwear, t-shirts and socks for women and men from bamboo. The collection also includes cotton and Circular Made fiber (lyocell with Refibra™ technology). Polyamide, elastane and wool are also used for fit and comfort. Bamboo Basics’ approach does not stop at material selection. Behind the scenes, work is being done to improve production and packaging and to establish long-term partnerships.

    B Corp certification

To further deepen its way of working, HVEG Brands Group entered the B Corp process over a year ago together with partner NoDodos. This international certification is intended for companies that not only look at profit, but also at their responsibility to people, the environment and society. The entire organization is assessed. For Bamboo Basics, part of HVEG Brands Group, the certification feels like a logical continuation and confirmation of the choices the brand has made step by step in recent years. The B Corp certification was officially awarded in April 2026. The brands Brams Paris and Maison de Paris are also part of this project within HVEG Brands Group.

More than a seal of approval

The B Corp certification means that choices are not only made, but also structurally embedded in the way of working. Agreements with suppliers have been tightened and laid down in a joint Code of Conduct, and factories are independently checked on working conditions and environmental standards through BSCI and BEPI assessments, among others. The use of certified materials has been further expanded and packaging has been improved with attention to origin and environmental impact. There is also an extra focus on inclusivity, well-being and transparency within the organization, with clear internal guidelines and policies.
