Bamboo Basics Achieves B Corp Certification for Responsible Business Practices
Soft bamboo underwear has been at the core of Bamboo Basics for years. More and more consumers want to know where their clothes come from and under what conditions they are made. That's why we make choices that go beyond just the material. How production is done and how partnerships are formed also play a role. By achieving B Corp certification, Bamboo Basics demonstrates its commitment to transparency, fair working conditions, and careful business practices, in addition to product quality.
“This process confirms that we meet high, independent standards in terms of sustainability, transparency, and social impact. We want to show that as a company, we strive to do even better, step by step, and that we intend to keep that promise. Together, we can make a difference. We are incredibly proud of this,” says Mike van Snek, CEO of HVEG Brands Group, part of HVEG Group.
Bamboo as a starting point
What begins for customers as soft and comfortable underwear is always connected at Bamboo Basics to how it is made. Bamboo has played a central role for years and is known for its breathable and moisture-regulating properties. From bamboo, the brand develops underwear, t-shirts, and socks for men and women. The collection also includes cotton and Circular Made fiber (lyocell with Refibra™ technology). For fit and comfort, polyamide, elastane, and wool are also used. Bamboo Basics' approach doesn't stop at material selection. Behind the scenes, work is being done on improvements in production and packaging, and on long-term collaborations with partners.
B Corp Certification
To further deepen their way of working, Bamboo Basics embarked on the B Corp journey more than a year ago with partner NoDodos. This international certification is for companies that not only focus on profit but also on their responsibility for people, the environment, and society. The entire organization is assessed. For Bamboo Basics, part of the HVEG Brands Group, the certification feels like a logical next step and a confirmation of the choices the brand has made step by step over the past years. The B Corp certification was officially awarded in April 2026. The brands Brams Paris and Maison de Paris are also part of this project within the HVEG Brands Group.
HVEG Brands Group More than a label B Corp certification means that choices are not just made, but are structurally embedded in the way of working. For example, agreements with suppliers have been tightened and formalized in a joint Code of Conduct, and factories are independently audited for working conditions and environmental standards through BSCI and BEPI assessments, among others. The use of certified materials has been further expanded, and packaging has been improved with attention to origin and environmental impact. Within the organization, there is also an increased focus on inclusivity, well-being, and transparency, with clear internal guidelines and policies. Because Bamboo Basics went through this process together with the HVEG Brands Group, these choices are firmly anchored, and continuous development and improvement remain an integral part of the brand.
