Not just saying green, but also doing green: going out together for our tree planting day
At Bamboo Basics, we believe it's important that positive words are followed by action. Or rather: with boots in the mud and hands in the soil. On February 3, 2026, something special was planned: planting trees with the entire team. — together with Trees for All. And just like in December 2024, it was a day we left our laptops closed again. No inbox, no meetings — but physically put your shoulders to the wheel and with red cheeks in the fresh air at the blow.
From Fair Friday to the field
This tree-planting day tied in perfectly with last year's Fair Friday, our Black Friday counterpart. On the day before Fair Friday and on Fair Friday itself, we donated a tree thanks to every order placed by our customers—a total of over 500 trees in two days!
By choosing Bamboo Basics specifically, our customers made this donation possible and directly contributed to this wonderful initiative. Retail therapy, in other words, that not only feels good but also actually does something good! Trees for All has already planted most of these trees, but of course, we wanted to get our hands dirty too!

Making an impact together
What made this day so special was that everything came together so beautifully and naturally. Think of the conscious choices our customers make time and again, our valuable partnership with Trees for All, and our team that once again put their hands to work with great enthusiasm—and literally — rolled up his sleeves. This year's tree planting day was in Schijndel.
Why plant trees?
Trees are essential for a healthy planet. That's why we partner with Trees for All, a foundation that plants trees in the Netherlands and several other countries, including Mexico, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ghana, and Indonesia. Through this partnership, we help restore biodiversity and create healthy living conditions worldwide—for both humans and animals.
Trees produce oxygen and are therefore the lungs of the earth, so to speak. They also absorb CO₂ (carbon), thus playing a crucial role in slowing climate change. Trees act as filters that improve air quality, provide shelter for animals, provide cooling, and make our natural environment more resilient to extreme weather conditions. Furthermore, trees provide food, increase humidity in their surroundings, and, with their roots in the earth, prevent soil erosion. Fallen leaves and other organic matter enrich the soil and make it more fertile.
Why does being in the woods make you feel like your whole system is taking a breather? It's because greenery reduces stress, promotes relaxation, and makes us feel happier and more connected to our surroundings. A walk in the woods has such a profound effect on your mind for a reason! So together, we're not just planting trees, but investing in a future where people and animals feel better.
